Hot tub base
« on: August 20, 2016, 10:07:02 pm »
So it looks like we are going to go with the Flair.  I have a stone pad that I originally wanted to put the tub on and I do not want to do a cement pad for future concerns. It looks like Hot Springs either recommends cement, pavers or a deck.   I think I want to build a deck out of 2X6 frame and top it off with 2x4's, all pressure treated.  I will place this on my stone pad.

Does anyone see any concerns with this plan?

Thanks

If the deck is going to be built around the tub, make sure you can get to the tub to do maintenance if needed. I had to remove my deck because the previous seller decided to build around the tub and I couldn't access none of the equipment. Just save some heartache there.

No, I just want to build a 8' x 8' square deck for the tub to sit on.

As long as you build it properly to support the weight of the spa/water/people that'll be fine.
