Great Lakes GVS500 controller
« on: August 04, 2016, 09:34:29 pm »
Trying to help my dad with his hot tub.  It has a GVS500 controller.  Every time the power goes out it resets to EC which is economy mode.  I want to make it stay in standard mode.

Anyone know how to do that?

Thanks

Most great lakes hot tubs have a dip switch on the board that you can flip to stay on std only. BTW i have never seen one that's working right go to ecn on startup if it dose not have the memory engaged default is std mode and 100 degrees.

I found the dip switches.  How should the be set.  All were one way except for #3.

Are you thinking the board is junk?

There is a wiring diagram on the box lid that will say wich dip switch does what. If you turn the tub off wait 5 min and turn it back on what mode is it on. If you shut it off on std mode it should come on with std mode. Either because of memory or that's the default.

I found the info on the dip switches.  I didn't see anything there about the mode it was in or anything to do with that.

I did shut down power for 5 minutes and started it back up and it all worked great.  I am going to do that again tonight but only for a few seconds and see what happens.  We get lots of short power outages living out in the rural area.

Thanks

Its prob your dad pushing the wrong button happens all the time to my customers and they do it over and over no matter what you tell them they still don't get it. But it makes me look good when they call and i can solve it over the phone.
