Shopping a hot tub in a small/medium town
« on: August 03, 2016, 05:39:12 pm »
I live in a 150k population town where only 2 hot dealers are located.
I don't want a lounge seat and a smaller hot tub (4-6 seats) would be preferred.
If it could fit in a 84'' width width that would even be better but I do really they are kinda rare.
I prefer components quality over feature such as jets/wifi/stereo.

The first only sells Trevi and is offering this one for 7k$ CAD:
https://www.trevi.com/p-2174-trevi-capella.aspx
it includes stairs, cover, delivering, chemicals

The second does have a few brands such as Jacuzzi and Sundance, but is clearly promoting Jacuzzi over Sundance (show room, price/deal, etc).
The seller is telling us Jacuzzi premium (300 and 400 series) are equivalent to Sundance 800 series which I've some doubt (I see it's a debate on this forum hehe).
He is currently selling a Jacuzzi J-345 at 8k$ CAD (instead of 13k$) and a Sundance Optima at 12k$ CAD (instead of 18k$ CAD).
it includes stairs, covers, delivering, chemicals

Thought?

Welcome to the forum.  In 10 years here, I have never heard mention of Trevi before.  In watching the video on their site, the only thing the spa doesn't do is cure cancer.

wow it doesn't seem fair, 7k$ and not even curing cancer, I'll keep this in my criteria now ;)

So what about Jacuzzi 345 vs Sundance? Not necessarily the Optima but maybe other Sundance model that would compare in feature but with better parts?

Trevi is a big swimming pool manufacturer in Canada. Didn't know they were in the hot tub game. Jacuzzi 400 series is equivalent to 800 series sundance. For Canada those prices are really good

A J-345 does not line up to the Optima.   That being said it has the same circ pump, it has the same main pumps and it has the same warranty.   It's not as flashy, it's not as big, and it has a lesser price.   The J-345 is a great mid sized spa and at that price Canadian, seems good.  We were selling at 9500 US.  Sundance for the most part uses the same parts, less jets and filters as Jacuzzi is the same company.  They line up as follows the J-200 series to 600, J-300 to 700 and the J- 400 to the 800 series Sundance.   I have always argued that the J-300 series does line up to the 800 series in many ways though.

All that being said have you wet tested, and or does the spa fit your needs?    Trevi not surprising. I have never heard of.
