I Have been looking athe the below spas and could use some help deciding. You will see this is a wide range. My Wife really likes the Caldera Martinique.

Have wet tested the Tropic seas. Working to wet test others. I would like to know if the prices I am getting seem reasonable. I would also love to hear peoples thoughts on these models.

The Last thing I need some assistance with. I have one dealer telling me that circ pump with micro filter will do a better job keeping the water clear and I have another dealer telling me that is not true. Thoughts?

A Circ pump moves 10-15 gallons a minute through a filter and runs for 24 hours a day. That's aprox. 17,000 gallons a day.

A jet pump moves 50-70 gallons per minute across a filter and runs for 4-6 hours a day which is aprox. 18,000 gallons a day.

Circ pump advantages are quiet, efficient and 24 hour ozone. Not better filtering.

Additionally:  Filtration is merely an assistant to your water chemistry.  No filter, circ pump, regular pump, ozone, etc will clear up green water.  Water chemistry is 80% of the equation (obviously, that number is pulled out of my you-know-what and not scientific but you get the point).

Thus- You are talking about things that are 4th, 5th on the list when it comes to your water.  You are basically splitting hairs.  Go back to the basics:  Is the tub comfortable?  Are the jets comfortable?  Is the dealer reputable? Etc.

I would actually say that the jet pump could filter better, as it will stir up the water in the spa more and assure there's no dead spots of water that never get filtered.

I'm sorry I pulled my numbers outa my ass also but the jest remains the same. Get GPM figures and do it yourself before you take a sales pitch as gospel.

As a South Seas dealer, I concur on the 748L pricing.  That is a steal.
