Hot tub when sick
« on: March 19, 2016, 11:01:52 am »
I have a bad flu with a slight fever of 98f and a bad chest cough. I am wondering if using my hot tub at the highest temp will help me fight off the virus?

Same here for anything flu like. If my body is running a fever it shouldn't need help heating myself up and I'd be worried that I'd be overdoing it and overheating myself.

98F is not a slight fever. Normal body temp is 98.6

Soaking in a hot tub opens the pores and helps release toxins.  It wont hurt the situation, as long as its 98 degrees or lower as noted by the posters above.

As mentioned, 98F is normal...as long as you're not running a fever, the heat won't hurt. I've often used the hot tub with a cold...it helps to relax if you're aching and makes you feel better like any other time. I wouldn't go in if I felt I had a fever though...it doesn't take much to overheat and pass out when you have a fever.
