Insulation and the upcoming cold winter

Wow, so much to learn.

For a small hot tub, outside, in NH is there any brand(s) that is better than others to use in the cold for insulating value?

Is it better to buy newer rather than older?

I don't want to go "cheap" and then pay a million $$$ in electric bills.

There are a lot of good brands that are very energy efficient.  I would stick with full foam spas for sure.  You will hear some sales spiels about partial insulation, but not all companies do that correctly and efficiently.  If you do some reading on here, you will see 5 to 7 brands that are widely considered top tier and efficient.  They make models with less bells and whistles that should allow you to get an efficient spa that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

We live in Ontario and bought a Jacuzzi with full-foam insulation and also SmartSeal, which is an extra layer around the perimeter. Not too cold yet, but so far I've yet to see the temperature drop more than 1-2 degrees so it seems to be maintaining very well.
