Different Brands of filters ...

Here's a quasi technical question ...

Is there a brand of filter that is structurally similar to Unicel?

My tub came with Unicel 6CH-502 filters and over the years I have bought replacements on-line but it seems that they are getting harder to find or too expensive and add that the last set I bought had holes in the top for who knows what reason. I originally thought a filter is a filter but have found out how wrong I was!

Some additional info - I have 2 filters in the filter bay, one for the circ pump and one for pump 1. It seems like the Pleatco equivalent works great for the circ pump but is too free flowing for the pump; the Pleatco has a lot of large slits where the Unicel has round holes which seems to limit the amount of water the pump takes in from the filter. I forget if I ever bought a Filbur filter but if someone here knows what the difference might be it will save me some time and money trying to find something very similar to the Unicel.

Any thoughts?
