Vacation prep
« on: August 25, 2015, 09:06:31 pm »
We have a hot tub at a ski condo we own that we always have maintained as it is a rental property. In June  we purchased a Vita Jolle for our home. It's wonderful, just the right size for my wife and a me with great jets.
We'll be leaving for a week vacation mid September and wonder what we could/should do to keep the water in good condition when we're gone. We use bromine with an ozone system and have the water well balanced now. I find I need to add  a teaspoon of bromine each day. I also shock it weekly. We only had a brief period, several days early on after we filled it,  of cloudy water and don't want to find it that way when we return.

thanks

I would get a floater basket and put bromine tablets in it.  They will slow release into the water while you are away.  If not that, a double or triple dose of granular bromine would probably be sufficient.

Safe travels!

Thanks Sam,
Our ski  rental unit hot tub has a bromine floater and I was thinking of getting one  after the supply of granular that came with our new tub here runs out. I'll order one soon so I can get it before we leave. We don't have a dealer nearby.
