Cold climate out door hot tub
« on: August 12, 2015, 02:56:21 pm »
Hi, I live in MT and sometimes it gets to -30 F.  Would it help if I insulated the inside of the cabinet with a thermal lock insulation and placed a small heater with fan inside to heat the ambient air around vessel?  Also should I place  it in a vault or surround it with decking.  Can I use gravel for foundation if ground is level and compact?

I live in Nebraska and have a 2001 Sundance Cameo. My engine compartment is NOT insulated. I wish it was. When things are working fine, I've never had a problem with anything freezing up. But, if the breaker or GFCI trips, or some sensor/pump fails so that the heater doesn't run and I don't know about it for a few days, then I run into trouble.
