Deck mount cover lift recommendations
« on: August 04, 2015, 07:49:40 am »
My hot tub is set into my deck.  It is 14 inches from the deck to the top of the skirt.  Can anybody recommend a deck mounted cover lift.  I know that I can mount one on the side but I would like to do a deck mount.  Thanks

My hot tub is also set into my deck.  I am not sure how many inches exactly it is from deck to skirt but I will measure.  I have a cover lifter installed.  It is just the standard cover and lifter that came with my bullfrog spa.  It does not fully open, as the deck prevents it from fully opening.  It rests on the deck surface when opened where the cover folds and basically is on an angle.  That said, it opens plenty wide enough for every seat in the tub to be used.  I am 6'2" and if I sit on the side where the cover is, I still have at least a foot of clearance between my head and the cover.

Basically that is what it looks like.

Covermate 3 deckmount is specifically designed for this type of installation.

CoverMate 3 deckmount is usually the best one.

kingdarb: the standard CoverMate 3 would work a little bit better for your setup.  If the cover not going all the way back bothers you, you could unmount the CoverMate 1 that you have, and install the standard CoverMate III, which holds the cover more upright and doesn't fold behind the tub like the CoverMate 1.  The CoverMate 3 would cover most of the holes left by the CoverMate 1, but you may have a few that wouldn't be covered by the CoverMate 3 bracket.

Good info thanks guys.

Markee:  Thanks for the product info.  It actually doesn't bother me as is.  I'm not a small fella and I use the seats at the side of the tub where the cover folds to (they are the deeper seats) and I have lotsa room.
