Arctic Spa Frontier jet pressure problem pump 1
« on: April 29, 2015, 06:02:40 pm »
Hi,

We have an Arctic Spa Frontier tub which was purchased in March 2015.  Just noticed that the pressure on pump 1 pulses when pump 2 is on.  You can get the full pressure back again but it seems an intermittent problem.  We think it may be the diverter valves but it's a new tub so we're wondering if this is a common fault.  We love our Arctic spa otherwise and have been very happy with it.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Welcome!   It could be low water level and the pump is surging, or like you mentioned a diverter maybe.   Give your dealer a call, it's what he's there for..     Pump 2 should not connected anyway to pump 1 plumbing..

Yes I agree 100% with Jim. It probably isn't a diverter as you would notice that when pump one runs by itself. It mist likely is low water. It will cause it to surge, or pulse as you say. Top it off a little bit with water, and I bet it goes away. If not, check your filter weir to make sure it isn't getting caught up on the filter, which can also cause it to surge. If those don't work, then call your dealer as Jim suggested.

Glad to hear you like your Arctic Spa Frontier! Enjoy!

Definitely not the water level as this has been topped up and the problem is still there.  Filters have also been checked so it must be something to do with how the diverter valve is diverting the air from pump 1 when the other pumps are on.
