Hot Tub Durability
« on: April 12, 2015, 09:13:23 pm »
I am replacing a 10 year old hot tub. I am hoping to search for a replacement from brands that have greater durability.
Which brands have a reputation for hot tubs that last longer?
Thanks
David

Longer? Longer than what? You didn't bother to mention what it is you have.
If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

Retired (mostly) from the industry after 33 years...but still putzing around with a consumer information website, and trying to sell obsolete owners manuals

Yea, 10 years from some brands is good. Box store, online and even dealer sold value lines. Ten years is good.

I have a customer on the phone right now as I type - her "E Model" classic is about 25 years old. The pump is leaking - but that is a simple job to replace the oring.

We also just delivered a new cover to her, and put in two new 'Moto Massage Jets.' She is thrilled!

I saw you state that you closed/sold your store. Just curious did you continue the service end as a business or do you just service a few long time customers/friends as needed?

I am running the "Service Department" out of our home. Watkins has certified us as a Repair Station, so we get plenty of work from the new dealer in town, other dealers who have sold into our area, factory referrals, our own customers, warranty work, and an increasing amount of Sundance repair as folks find us.

It is far from full time, but that's just fine with me!!

Oh - and for some reason, we seem to be selling as many or more replacement covers!
