Caldera Martinique heater issue
« on: February 23, 2015, 03:19:07 pm »
Hey guys, I have a Martinique tub that is about 11 years old. I have never replaced the heater and I think it may be time. I just want to confirm that this is the root of the problem. It  started with 4 ---- flashing in the control panel. I reset the breaker and turned it on after a minute. Things seemed to be ok because the tub returned to the 99 degrees that I had it set at. I came home today and the same thing was flashing in the panel. I cleaned and changed the filter and reset the breaker again. Now I am getting "temp" flashing in the panel, and nothing is coming out of the hole in the bottom of the tub where the ozone comes out. Is this definitely a "bad" heater?
Also, is changing out the heater a big job? Is it something I can do myself or will it require a service call? Just looking for some answers here, thank you for your help!!

I HIGHLY DOUBT this has ANYTHING to do with the heater!

The heater is basically just a wire, that heats up when electricity passes through it.
If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

If it's not a heater issue, where else should I be looking for the problem?

In the trouble shooting section of my manual it says "Heater high limit thermostat is tripped" or the filter is clogged. Where is the thermostat located and is it replaceable?

Circ pump was shot, had to replace it.
You were right Dr Spa, nothing to do with the heater.
