Bad Circ Pump?
« on: February 08, 2015, 01:11:37 am »
Hi,

My Sundance is not heating and has an FL1 flow error.  I've noticed the Circ Pump is no longer running as well.  I was hoping it was a stuck flow switch but also noticed the circ pump is nearly hot to the touch.  If my circ pump has died would it cause the flow error just the same?  I have tried it with and without the filter but no change.  The tub is powered down for now because the hot pump scares me (seems odd to be hot but not run.) A replacement is $150 and although it seems like the solution to me.... I wanted to hear opinions before spending the money.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the pump. How old is it?

Its a 2006 so the pump wouldn't surprise me.   I'm wondering if the pump has locked up and current still running to it was causing it to become hot.

Yep, they get scale and stuff inside and the impeller stops turning. Sometimes it blows the breaker sometimes not.
