newbie here with hot tub question

hello everyone i am new to the forum and to hot tubs dont know anything about them other than the price started looking at new ones and now considering a used one found one a jacuzzie cirrus i beleive thats the name i found on it the owner said it was about 4 years old and he was the second owner he was asking 2000.00 for it it looked fine other than the wood panels needed staining and sealing and all the little holes around the bottom whice i guess is air holes half of them seem to be stoped up only half of them have bubbles coming out of them does anyone know anything about this hot tub and what would be a good price on it or should i forget about this one and look for another one      thanks

I would move on, those air holes are a pain.  the fact that this is the second owner in 4 years makes me pause...

thanks very much i will continue to look or do youthink i should just break down and buy a new one? we have never owned one before and i want to make sure we are really going to get 5000.oo worth of use out of it  thanks

Ricket if you buy new from a major reputable manufacturer you will have at least a five year warranty which is a lot of peace of mind.

When I started out to buy a hot tub I too looked at used however I soon realized that most used tubs were over priced considering the risk I was taking in getting a leaker or having to replace motor/pumps, heaters, and electronics.

The older the tub the greater chance for leaks from the stress of moving it.

I must say thought it was a good exercise, as I learned a lot about hot tubs relative to the cost of replacing the above mentioned items and my conversations with repair people who pointed out the problems with old tubs.

Let us know what you decide.
