2001 Beachcomber 720

I'm hoping someone can help me out. The filter in our beachcomber 720 is gulping air. The water levels are good and it does it even when it's just cycling. We replaced pump 1 a few days ago and the problem was not resolved. Is the floating weir supposed to be secured under the locking ring? The only way it appears to fit is to sit in the locking ring, making the entire piece float out and into the hot tub at times. In our old tub, it was secured under the ring. Thanks in advance for your help.

The ring and 2 skimmer pieces should be "attached" together and should lock in the filter ring. They're inexpensive and should be replaced if its not doing that.
