heated floor mat? way to keep towels warm?

As we near the winter season (and the 76" of average annual snow fall)  I wonder if anyone has seen or heard of a heated floor mat to place near the tub.  My wife would love to step into the tub from a snow free, semi-warm mat, as opposed to the inch of snow/ice that we inevitably will face.

I am looking for something electric that could be plugged in to provide a snow free entry point.  I also would love ideas on how to keep towels warm (at least something cheaper than the $1800 cedar towel warmer I have seen on line.

Don't know about a heated floor mat, But if you find one, I'd wrap the towels up in one.  You're Welcome

Try a seach on any search engine for 'outdoor heated floor mats'. I came up with lots of hits...most were very pricey though.

yes, we think that from November to March (the months with snow), but the recent hurricanes have solved most desire to move to the tropis.  

That;s why we're getting a tub...keep us warm on cold nights!

I've read to use a cooler and throw the towels in the dryer before putting them in the cooler. I've also read to use those gel packs that can be heated (microwave) and throw those into a cooler with the towels.

A $2 alternative is to buy a cheapo pair of sandals and wear them into the tub. You put them back in the water before you get out and your not stepping in snow.

At the risk of brown nosing, this is what I do.  Someone made their own, but can't remember who.

You could always try those heater tapes that keep piipes from freezing or to prevent ice dams in your gutters/roof lines - remember to place something over the tape.

Now before I get bashed - I never said it was smart, only something to try.

My tub is only 3 steps to the door, so I don't have too much of a problem in the dead of winter, but if you have more of a hike to the tub, I'd be more inclined to have a pair of big floppy boots to slip on (Bean boots, come to mind, or a pair of  Ugs for ladies.) than a heated mat.  Also, my tub has some hooks on the cover lifter handle for towels, I've never used them, but wonder if in the winter the steam from the tub might keep them warm? (or would they just get damp?)
