Bullfrog A8 price
« on: August 30, 2014, 11:04:54 pm »
I live in the Midwest and was quoted $11,550 for a Bullfrog A8, cover, cover lifter, steps, ozone, filtration pump, delivery.  No stereo. No negotiation on price.  Does this seem reasonable?  I've never owned a hot tub.  Seems to me they are like new cars...take them out of the showroom and it's worth 2/3 what you paid (or less).  My wife has fallen in love with the A8 and the model is new enough that finding a used one seems unlikely.
Anyone know where to look for a used 2013 A8?
Does the price quoted for a new one seem reasonable?
IF I were to look for a used bullfrog, what is the oldest year others would recommend I look at?  I know there was a model change in 2013 that significantly changed the jetpacks.  Any advice is appreciated.

that seems a little high. Not sure why the dealer is saying no negotiation. Walk in with a check but be prepared to walk away

$11,500 including all of that is actually another really good deal on a Bullfrog.  I'm surprised to see so many low prices lately.  Fyi, most dealers sell that spa for around $13k and don't include all of those extras you are getting.

Also, I doubt you will find a used 2013 A8 anywhere.  I would jump on that.

I am with you, breneman.  Although I was ready to buy a new tub, I found our tub on craigslist by using search tempest.  This is a website that searches all of craigslist, ebay, and oodle.  We bought a Jacuzzi J375 that was used less than one year for half of what we would have paid for it new.  Driving from WI to Ohio wasn't so much fun to go pick it up, but saving $5000 was definitely worth it.  Be patient, and you will find one.

I was at a Bulfrog dealer a couple days ago and they had the A8 for $11k+ but quickly said they'd be able to go closer to $10k.

I'm in Indiana if that helps.

i bought an A7 yesterday.  i tried to negotiate and got nowhere.  paid $10,500 but got the $500 back with their labor day rebate. everything you mentioned but no stereo or cloud control.  cloud control seems like a bit of a rip off since you have to pay  for it annually after the first year free in addition to the one time charge.

even did it at the end of the month and walked away from the deal for 4 days.  then came back as their sale ended at 4pm yesterday - they closed at 6.  surprised they had no give in their pricing, but talked to another dealer in the state who said the price was pretty good.

You can get just as much tub for less money. Wet test some models from other manufacturers.

Thanks to those that responded.  I offered $10,600 (all in including tax) vs. their original $11550 (all in including tax) asking.  They wouldn't budge.  I still thought the $10,600 was high but my wife likes that tub.  I went in with my checkbook and ended up walking away.  I'd still like to find a used/refurbished one.

If you left your phone number, I'd be expecting a call.  Give it a week and check back if you haven't heard.

I would not sell an A8 for $10,600.  $11,500 is a very good price.

I am currently looking to buy a big hottub and love the A8D. I was told that the A8D is the cheaper of the A8's because there are ony 5 jetpaks. I have a price quote of 14295 less $500 (for labor day) and another 10% off for taking the demo one they have in stock. Still, this comes to 12365.50 plus tax so $13,285 total. This includes delivery, steps, cover, and the thing that makes it easy to close the cover. It does not include the extra $1,025 for the electrician to come set up the 200 watt. I see some people on here getting much better deals. Any advice?

Your pricing is more in line with what I sell them for, and most other dealers that I know for that matter.  I think that with everything that is included in your quote, it is a very fair price.  The other numbers in this thread are ridiculously low.  I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I almost have to question their authenticity.  I would never even consider selling an A8 for the $11,500 mentioned earlier.  I would let the customer walk right out the door without a second thought.

Don't let the other numbers make you think that you are getting a bad price.  I assure you that your quote of $13,285 is below what most dealers would sell that spa for.  It certainly is not high.
