After wet-testing the Sundance Aspen, the Bullfrog A8D, the Artesian Pelican Bay, the Caldera Cantabria, and the Jacuzzi J-470 (based on dealer availability), we straight up, hands-down, like the J-470 best of all.

Tomorrow, we're wet-testing the J-480, and seeing where we come down on the lounger or no lounger question, and then it's brass tacks time. The store with the wet-tested J-470 offered us $12,895 for his leftover 2013 J-470 demo, and $13,895 for his non-demo 2013 J-480 leftover. We're headed to another store, about an hour away (vs 45 minutes for the first store), to demo the J-480 (first store wouldn't fill the J-480). I haven't asked if the J-480 is a 2013, or a 2014.  Focusing on the first store with the 2013 J-470 demo and the non-demo 2013 J-480, what would a reasonable counter-offer be?

I think it's standard, but those prices on the table include the stereo, and chemicals, cover, delivery, etc..

It's hard to say what a reasonable counter-offer would be in your neck of the woods.  I would let it be known that you are talking to the "other" jacuzzi rep in your neighborhood.  Maybe even a little bs on your side about the other reps pricing will get you the best price.  Good luck, and I think you've chosen the best hot tub manufacturer in the market.

Thanks -- looks like we're going to stick with the J-470 -- my wife decided the lounger wasn't worth the extra seat, and felt she could lounge well enough in the primary seats.  It's good we got to wet-test the 2013 J-480.  Up to now, we'd wet-tested the 2014 J-470, but have been considering the discounted pricing on the un-tested 2013.  Testing the 2013 480, we realized the two jets instead of one for your feet in the foot dome might be worth something more to us.   Looks like our best number on a 2014 J-470 is going to be $13,195 (maybe it's time for that little bs to get them to $12,995, but on the other hand, it's close enough where I don't want to be a nudge), which the other dealers can't seem to match.  Got down to $12,000 for the 2013 J-470, but for the extra ~$1k, and considering we'll have it for a long time, we're thinking we're going to buck up for the extra foot jets we liked.  It was a noticeable difference.
