220v installation

Anyone have an idea how much a 220v installation will run?

I have no idea for hiring an electrician, but I can tell you what it cost us last week for wire, breakers and a box. About $500.00 Granted we needed 55 feet of wire which is very expensive. That was the biggest cost $280.00. The Gfi was around $60.00 and we used a sub-panel box because we are going to have some more electrical needs for landscaping and that was $110.00. Your installation could be more or less depending on your distance to your existing power source etc.

You can save yourself a lot of the cost if you do the dirty/labor intense work yourself, which would be trenching the line from the breaker box to the hot tub area and then I would place no less then 1inch conduit at least 18inches deep in that trench. Then the electrician would just run the wires and do the hook ups which would still cost you a pretty penny depending how far from the breaker box to the tub run is.

Mine cost about $500.00. I did it myself.

$750 for me - had space in existing breaker panel, about 50' run to a newly installed sub-panel and wired to the tub inside an above-ground conduit.

I did the wiring myself. Cost me about $500 to wire to code using room in the existing panel box.

If I recall I think I was given an estimate of about $1500 to have it done.

I did mine myself, my receipts look to total $381, but I had and was donated some stuff.  The way I ran the wire, I ended up using about 96' of wire/tubing to get from main panel, through spa box, to flex, to main connect in the spa.  I could have run it different, but didn't want to see the wiring from inside house.  Main section was mounted to side of house, other area was trenched 24" below grade.

wire = $.78/ft.   I needed about 100' of 3 and 55' of white = 253
PVC is about 4.50 a stick so about 25$ there
Add connectors, clamps, elbows, solvent.

I had flex pipe and a bunch of little things (brackets, tools, some fittings, tapcons, paint for after), big help was a friend's business had a section of scrap wire that was just enough, so one wire less for me to buy.

a lot of variables to consider (wire guage, length of run, do you have the space in your panel for a 50/60amp breaker? etc. etc.) but average costs i see from an electrician for a "typical" setup are $500-$1000
