Water's Edge Spas
« on: June 14, 2004, 08:24:01 am »
Hello there.

A newbie to the board, been lurking this weekend and have picked up many good tips.  Here's my scenario: live in a rural area of Massachusetts, have one dealer in mind who receives very high marks from their customers (many known personally to me).

They currently sell Water's Edge Spas.  Been looking here and poolandspa.com fopr information, but there is none on this brand.  I didn't ask the dealer yet about the brand, just picked up some brochures, so at least one trip back is in order.

But, in the meantime, anybody heard of this company?  Any experiences pro/con?  TIA

Ed

Hey Big Ed.

Here is the link to their web site  http://www.watersedgespas.com/

I tried looking at their product line and the site says still under construction. From a list of their dealership look like they are only available in the upper north east. Not neccesarrily a bad thing. If you happen to go and wet test their product would love to get some feedback from you about you thoughts and impressions.

Above all, wet test often.

Hey Big Ed! I just had my Waters Edge hot tub installed today! A little time is needed to really evaluate it though. Seems like a nice tub and the factory is only a half mile from my house ;D They are a very small operation and they seem to take pretty good care of their customers..... I haven't heard a bad thing about their tubs. I took a look around in the wharehouse part of the building and there were quite a few tubs that were stacked double high.....I ask where they were going and he said they ship alot of these tubs to England. The couple that live across the street from us have had one of their tubs for a year or so now and have nothing bad to say about them. Another guy I work with said his sister has had a waters edge spa for a year and haven't had a problem....The same guy has a Hot Springs spa and he said they are a great spa but ran into trouble when the shell developed a leak only one year after the warranty ran out....So needless to say he is looking to get a watersedge tub now also....They seem to be well insulated which is good for our horribly cold Winters ???  I think it would well worth your while to look into these tubs!

Hmmmmm. I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist but a guy comes to this site to make his first ever post about a spa brand I've never heard of. A second guy who also has never posted here responds back an hour later saying how great they are. Am I to skeptical on this one or does it seem fishy to others?

I have never heard of them either, they must be a local or regional company.  not everyone lives half a mile from the factory, so service will most certainly vary by dealer.
if you haven't heard a bad thing about them you haven't talked to enough people.  I don't care what spa Brand one asks about there will always be happy and unhappy customers.  I guess it could be just a big coincidence that someone asked about them and then a customer who had his delivered the same day writes such a glowing review of the factoryand not a dealer. but then I could be wrong too.

Christ Hillary, it isn't the "right wing conspiracy".  I sell real estate, not spas.

These tubs are made in New Hampshire, from the sound of it the Northeast is their only domestic market at present.  Bad for me, as nobody except the other poster has ever heard of them.

I trust my local dealer, I know they are reputable.  I know nothing of other dealers, all of whom are at least 50 miles from me.  Hell, I even tried to contact the rep for Catalina spas to find a local dealer (their website only directs you to the regional rep) and no reply after 2 weeks.  Either there's no dealer, or their service stinks.

Problem is, the local dealer stocks a brand nobody knows.  Terrific.

I apologize if I came off coarse.  Ed if you know the local dealer, trust him and know he will back up the product he sells, then don't worry if a couple of us have not heard of the spa Brand.  Their smaller territory and operating capacity  may well mean their quality control is tighter.  Wet test and go with your gut. :)

I would say Athol is rural....but close enough to consider dealers in Springfield.

I hope you guys have something more to market your tub than the magic of Microban-Gimmickry. Good luck with that heat-transfer thing. Why not just spend the money and insulate the tub. Do you guys own a service company too!
