Need advice....$6000 to spend....
« on: January 16, 2014, 09:06:16 pm »
Noob here!  I am looking to purchase a hot tub for my wife for her birthday.  My budget is $6000 and I don't mind ordering online.  I live between Jacksonville and Gainesville Florida.  Looking for a 5-6 seater.  I already have a 7 x 7 slab poured and electricity is complete...just need the hot tub!  Suggestions?

I found a local dealer in Gainesville that is selling a Hot Springs Spa "Relay" for sale.  It includes cover, cover lift, delivery, out the door for $6200.  Thoughts?

I haven't priced them in the long time, but that sounds reasonable. I've looked at the spa, but never tested one.  What can you find out about the dealer?

The store doesn't have a great reputation, but it's the only pool/spa store in Gainesville.  The sales rep was helpful, I enjoyed her insight, but they came across as desperate for a sale.  There is a Rec Direct Factory Outlet about 45 minutes from me.  They sell Dr Wellness spas...I have never heard of them....they seem shady!

You have some other choices in Jacksonville. There is a sundance, jacuzzi and artesian represented.  Check out those 3 lines they each should have something that fits your price point

No 3 different stores. I just googled it and found them. The sundance was a pinch a penny store, garden city was jacuzzi and I think artesian was splash. Not positive on the artesian dealer

came across as desperate for a sale.

I have noticed that reps at the one local and the other almost local store seem pretty hungry and a bit too aggressive.

Might have to be so to survive in these markets.

I suggest talking to a local independent repair tech and get his take on the service follow-thru of local dealers. My guy was a really good source for such information.

you can have a look at the vortex spa online website , if theres no dealer whithin 150 km you can get the discounted price  , we have plenty of tubs whithin that range and our headoffice is in Canada wich mean you wont have to pay taxes .

My 2 cents worth, buy from a dealer that you can walk in the store and ask advice from, or can call or again come in and talk to if the spa needs service.
