Omg....just got the quote from the electrician.....$1800.00 for wiring......does that seem right?

Did the electrician have to do anything else besides wire the tub? Did he have to up your service in the house? In mass a typical wiring job goes between $800-$1300 depending on how far the run is

Yeah 1800 seems high but like mentioned what needs to be done? You might get another bid and see where they come in at..

1300 $ lmao . 4 $ per feet max for the wiring , 100 $ for the gfci , 40 $ for the main breaker , your spa must be far away from your main box

I've never even an electrician anywhere near that cheap. They might as well get a job at mcdonalds they'd make more money

I paid $1000 but that was back in 2003 and the run wasn't too far from the main box.

Well , buy the gfci breaker on amazon for 90 $ , go to a local store for the main breaker ... if you let the electrician sell you the gfci for 220 $ and the #6 gauge wire for 6 $ a feet then yeah it will cost you more money . It all depend if you are willing to do something to save some money. electrician work at 75 $ / hour over here , what your rate ?

Extra box added, 80 ft to outside, and then the outside box thing.....60 amp.....tub about 5-6 feet from house....what do you think guys?

If they added a sub panel and ran 80 feet to an outside box then that's not a bad price.

That actually sounds very fair to me. That would be a really good price in my area. Like others said thigh, maybe get another bid just to compare.

Thank guys.....since we have never done this before, just want to check with others that have.....I just had no idea about that. Will get a second just to be sure. Dealer is already calling about scheduling delivery!!!!!! We just have the down payment paid......hmmmmm. Maybe we got the super dooper you're the first sap sale of the year deal!!!!!!!!
