New, But Learning....
«

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to hot tubs, but am thinking of getting one. I think that I'll probably buy new from a dealer.
My first stop will be a Hot Springs dealer for a wet test.
What type of accessories can/should I bargain for?
What items, if any do the dealers throw in to sweeten the deal?
Thanks

Be sure to look at multiple brands if you have the dealers in your area. Wet test if at all possible as you will want it to be comfortable. The worst is to not try a tub out and find out that you have to live with it being OK instead of fabulous. Really all you will need is steps, delivery and setup. Most dealers will give you those for free.

Tman has good advice there.
In addition, I would see if the dealer could throw in a cover lift, chemical starter kit and free (standard) delivery.
You may also want a ozonator or UV system.
Then there is the fancy lighting system, stereo, tv.... etc., etc., etc.,

We are also looking....went to HS today, did a dry test. Had to make a separate appointment to wet test. We have looked at maax, jacuzzi, sundance and a few others. We have eliminated quite a few for various reasons including the dealer. They're all different. Each one fits different too....good luck to both of us!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info.
I also did a dry test at the HS store. The saleswoman was nice and knowledgable. I have to come back for the wet test because my wife couldn't come with me.
Down the block, I saw a Sundance dealer, so I stopped in. My daughter and I were ignored by the receptionist who was on the phone. There was a man in the back office who looked at us through his window and also ignored us. We looked around for 5 minutes then left.
I was disappointed because from this forum I learned that Sundance spas are good. It's their loss not mine.

They will tell you a cover, steps, delivery, and a startup kit are "Accessories" that they are throwing in to sweeten the deal, but they are always part of the deal. What else would you need?
