I don't know anything about their spas (Jim, Tman and some of the other professionals can address this), but they, with out a doubt, have the best (G rated) hot tub video I've ever seen.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EITn_nisXIk

For $7,400 you can get a much better spa than a Coast.  They aren't terrible or anything, just considered a decent middle of the road manufacturer.  For that price, I would look at others.

Sam, after looking around a bit, I don't know that 7K is much money for a "brand name" hot tub. I definitely agree that he should look around at a few before a decision is made.  But, if Coast is a pretty good / middle of the road tub, the price is right and he has a good local dealer it might be a good deal for him.
It also depends where you live.   In my area, I don't think 7k would go very far.

Marquis, Bullfrog, Caldera, Jacuzzi, Sundance, etc... all have models available in the $7400 range.  They are most likely their lower to mid tier tubs, but you can certainly get a good tub in that range.

Are they 5 person tubs?

Absolutely.  Bullfrog R6L should be right around that $7400 price.  The Marquis 545 is under $7k at the local dealer here.  I'm pretty sure every major manufacturer has tubs for $7400.  They may not have TV's, stereos, salt systems, etc at that price, but I personally feel that those things are superfluous.
