need help with tub placement

Im putting a 6.5×6.5 tub on a place that use to be a mulch bed. I cleared out the mulch can I just put gravel down

My tub instructions suggested a concrete bed (I think 4").
However, mine is currently sat on a block paved patio.
I guess what you want to try and avoid is large discrepancies in the level.
Imagine a bow in the middle of your gravel bed, could cause the tub to flex when it's full of water, this could be disastrous.

you could...like stated above though I would build a "frame" out of a good solid treated lumber to keep the gravel from washing out and in place.
