Hydropool Spa Pump Problem
« on: September 16, 2013, 07:20:47 pm »
So I inherited a 9 year old hot tub. Pump #1 works great. Pump #2 doesn't. Turned on the tub--pump #2 seized. Tries to turn on, just gets hot. So what can I do? What is the estimated labor to replace the pump?

Can I run it with that pump unplugged? Only one set of jets and the skimmer work, but it seems to be OK other than that. Can it operate with the other pump doing nothing?

Pumps seem to range from about £150 - £300 (I guess around $100-$200).
I would imagine labour will be about an hour plus any call out charge.
I would also imagine the tub would need to be drained prior to any work commencing.

I couldn't see the job being too difficult to perform though?
