Hot Springs decision - Pulse vs. Rhythm
« on: September 21, 2013, 11:55:57 pm »
We are shopping for our first hot tub and are thinking about purchasing either a HS Pulse with free salt-water ACE system or a HS Rhythm. Looks like about  $2,500 difference in price. We are purchasing just for relaxation (2 adults with 2 HS kids), so we don't need many different kinds of jets, but we want to be sure we purchase something that will last 7-10 years without big expenses and the kids love the waterfall and lights features. We've also heard from a few friends that they've gotten a rash from their hot tubs, and we're wondering if the ACE system reduces that issue? The Rhythm looks to be just a bit smaller, but for the big price difference we'd be willing to go with it. Any recommendations - and are there any models other than Hot Springs that might be less expensive for our interests but good quality? Thanks for any guidance people can provide!

all things being equal, go for the Pulse.  If you manage your salt system, you should have excellent, soft silky water...no rashes.

Both are well built, I'd go the Pulse as well but if budget comes into play the Rhythm is a good option.

Thanks. Is it difficult to take care of a hot tub with an ACE system? Since we've never had a hot tub before, I'm concerned the care may be more difficult with an ACE system, and some of the reviews on the ACE system sound like it is problematic. Will the ACE system lead to a greater chance of corrosion?

Current version pretty simple.  If you do not manage properly there is increased chance of corrosion.
