Best price for 2012 Marquis Reward?
« on: August 03, 2013, 10:05:06 pm »
Hello all, I've been lurking here for the last month or so as I have shopped for a hot tub.  I've looked at D1 Nautique, Sundance Optima, Hot Springs Aria, Caldera Geneva and Marquis Epic and Reward.  The Reward seems to have the power and features of the Epic in  slightly smaller package.

I wet tested the Caldera and was impressed with the power of its jets. The lounge seat seemed cramped however. I loved the Euphoria jet. I also wet tested the Marquis epic. The three deep seats including the lounger, were very comfortable. I love the hk40 jets, and the tri-zone system. I did a dry test with the Reward.  Although smaller, the Reward has five deep seats while the Epic only has three. So I have just about decided on the Reward.

I can get the Caldera Geneva for $10500 , the Marquis Epic for $10000 , and a demo 2012 Reward for $8000. The D1, Hot Springs,  and Sundance were around $11000. I believe the reward has the light package and stereo and cover lift. I was told the 2013 Reward was upgraded to eliminate the sleep mode.

Is $8000 a good price for a 2012 Marquis Reward? Any other opinions on the Reward, good or bad,  would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention the owner of the Marquis dealership is great, but he is older and probably looking to retire in the next year or two. I'm not sure what would happen to any warranty work needed but there is one marquis dealer one hour away, and another two hours away.  Any reason to think I may have trouble getting service for my hot tub if my current dealer retires?

If the dealership is solid there's no reason to believe retirement will shut the doors. Ask him. Good tub only fair price. Ask for another grand off.

$8000 is a very good price.  We sell them for $10,995.

A few years ago the Reward cost a little bit less, but in late 2011 there were some significant changes/improvements to the spa that made the price go up a little.  I would jump on that deal.

Tman122 and MarKee, thanks for your input. His price for a 2013 Epic is $9995, which includes cover lifter, steps, and storage unit. The price posted for the Reward was $8795, which I suspect is the regular price for a new one. Doesn't the Euphoria have to fit between the Epic and Reward? Part of the reduction was for removal of the $180 steps from the package, so he cut the regular price by $500.

So yea Tman122, I tend to agree that it is only a so-so price, at least by comparison to his price for a new Reward. I will ask him his price on a new one.  I don't think $500 off is enough of a discount for last year's model, I'd just as soon get a new one. The Reward even at $8795 compares favorably to the Caldera Tahitian at $10000, in my opinion.

$8795 is pretty cheap on a new Reward compared to what the spa is sold for at most Marquis dealers.  The 2012 Reward is nearly identical to the 2013, and he's selling his new ones for cheap, so probably doesn't have much room to discount.

You'll find out if he has room to move once you ask. Be persistent. Let him know your serious if your interested in the tub.

this...btw telling them "I'm seriously interested" is not letting them know your serious, if you for sure found the model you want, pull out the checkbook or credit card then negotiate...I don't care who or what your buying, you will ALWAYS get best price when your prepared to buy that day
