Broken Jets
«

The used tub i bought this weekend has two broken jets.
If the pump is on high, with the jet in the open position, the jets pop out.
I'd like to fix these, and can see all sorts of jets on Fleabay, are any of these things universal fitting by any chance, or would I have to source a direct replacement.
I am prepared to buy just the white plastic rear section and swap the internals/outer ring.
The tub in question is an Artisan Island Antugua

I'm looking at something like this, but not sure which ones i need.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Diffuser-Waterways-Polystorm-Hot-tub-Spa-Jets-Tubs-Replacement-for-old-Jet-/150984816075?pt=UK_Swimming_Pools_Hot_Tubs&hash=item23276575cb
Is there anything obvious to use as a reference.

There are many different sized jets available. It would probably be easier to take the jets in question to a dealer for assistance. I'm not familiar with the jets in an Artisian, but if they use waterways jets, as many manufacturers do, it should be relatively easy to get replacement parts. The part that you posted the link to is a waterways jet, though there are many different designs they have used over the years. Most waterways jets will have a 7 digit part number on the diffuser, for example: xxx-xxxx. Unfortunately, these aren't very much help from what I understand. I have used this number in the past and gotten the wrong part. This is why I suggest taking the jets to a dealer to try and match them up.

I matched it to this in the end.

Ours has the same numbering (218-4000), fits the measurements and looks almost identical.
Ours say R4, this says R5, I assume release numbers

Don't mess around with just the jet back get a compete jet. Easiest way to do it is go to site that sells waterway jets, then measure by the diameter of the face. I would stick with a direction jet vs a spinner type they will last longer.

Hi Jim.
From what i've read, it's common for these things to break, in which case, i wouldn't mind holding a few spare ones.
I'll take on board about the spinners though, as mine has about 6 of them.

I love the spinners; I agree, replace the whole jet, not just the face.

They are expensive though. Jets are £25.00 - £30.00 each in the UK.
I have 2 with broken clips, which would cost me £60 to replace, or £40 to repair, and still have enough diffusers left to repair another 8.
