I have read the warranty and it appears that no matter where you buy the SD spa, any SD dealer can service.

Am I missing somthing?

I plan on planning on buying from a SD other then the one closer to my house (He was about 2k cheaper.).  If something did go wrong and required work, I guess the closer dealer can help me?  Wouldnt that dealer be reimbursed from corp for the warranty work?  That way, the dealer shouldnt fuss cause it is not costing him anything.

As far has normal service and help, I would also use the closer dealer.  His benefit would be the profit he makes in the chemicals/services I buy from him.

Any Advice?

Any repair facility authorized by Sundance to repair their spas is eligible to get reimbursed for warranty work.
However, did you notice that the written Sundance warranty gives the dealer the right to charge for reasonable travel time?  I'd check with the close dealer to see what their policy is for servicing spas that they didn't originally sell.  You never know......

Do dealers of other manufactures charge for travel time like Sundance does. I know a Sundance owner and she says her local dealer charges her 85.00 for all travel time..that seems pretty steep..thoughts???

With the manufacturer paying a FLAT $60 in CREDIT not cash, the dealer realy needs to charge a service fee. 85 seems high. If I sold it we charge 50 bucks for a service fee, gas aint cheap you know! If we didnt sell it $70. OK, maybe 85 isn't to far out of line.
If you like it and you want it BUY IT!

While the closer dealer could service you, he is NOT obligated to do so by the factory.

Many dealers feel hurt that you would by from another dealer and then expect them to service it.

Maybee the reason the closer dealer charges more is because he provides much better service. It is not cheap to employ well trained service techs and keep hundreds of parts in stock.

What are the actual prices of the spas. Most posters on this boad will be able to tell you if either of them are fair, or if you should have reason to be concerned.

They can provide warranty service but they do not have to.  Jacuzzi has protected territories and am pretty sure sundance does too.  usually the selling dealer would have to pay a fee to the dealer whose territory he "stepped"into to provide warranty service.  someone correct me if i'M wrong?
