Buy hot springs grandee for $12,995 or D1 Lotus Bay for $12,495?

Which one is the better hottub? Never owned a hottub and have it narrowed down to these two. Which is the better deal? been to both dealers but still not sure.......cover, chemicals, etc. all included with both

I'm not a dealer of either.  They are both great tubs but for my money nothing beats a grandee. I think it's the best tub on the market

are the jets good and powerful on the grandee? or is there any downsides to the grandee?

have you sat in both dry? wet-tested either? determined dealer competency? these are things we cannot do for you which will help you make a good decision....both manufacturers have been around 30+ years and are reputable and although D1 was just sold, they were purchased by Jacuzzi another long standing company in the industry

Quality wise both are very good. Assuming the dealers both seem like someone you'd feel comfortable doing business with I'd make both a counter offer and see what they say.

What part of Kansas are you located in? Reason I ask, I work for an Arctic Spa hot tub dealer in Topeka. If you aren't too far from us, I would be glad to help out in any way that I can. We have several in our showroom to look at, and you could wet test just about any model if you would like. If you aren't interested in Arctic Spas, that is okay too, but I thought I would as least offer to help. The two hot tubs you are looking at are great models from great manufactures. At least test what they have in the showroom. A wet test gives a feel for how the seats work for you and how the jets feel, and a combination of both. The jets in the Hot Spring are the same in other Highlife models with same flows so at least you can get a feel for that if you can't sit in the one you want. Tell them about your desire to wet test the Grandee and see if they have any idea of a solution.

Of the two, I've only been in the Grandee. I will say most people tend to buy big their first time. How many people do you think will be using your tub regularly?

I would of bought the wrong tub if I had done the wet test with out my wife being there.  So if you have another person that will be in the tub with you most of the time try and do the wet test with that person.

That is actually really good advice Bimmerdog. Often time one person likes the tub, while the other one doesn't care for it as much. Many times though, one of the two seems to  be too shy or just refuses to get in. Not sure why that is, but I have had many times where just one of the two sit in the spa for a wet test. Also good advice from HS Ace. If you can't test the one you want to buy, you might at least wet test one of the models from that brand so you can get a feel of what those jets feel like, and you might be able to find some seats that are close to the one you are looking to buy.

I know I would of bought the wrong tub. I thought for sure my wife would love a lounger seat, but we wet tested anyways. She could not stay seated (only weighs 115) and just floated away.

using it regularly will be 1 adult and then 3 teenagers so we want one that still fits a 5 ft tall 80lb 13 year old and we want it big enough to be able to pack in the people when we have parties which makes the grandee seem more ideal by looking at the seats....or is there other brands that would be more fitting?
