2001 Sunrise 799 Galileo

Hey Everyone, I've been lurking on this site for awhile now, and figured it's time to register and post my first question.  I just picked up a used Sunrise tub and I'm trying to figure out some settings.  Here are my specs:

TUB - Sunrise 799 Galileo
SPA PACK - Gecko - SSPA-1-P122-01CP2-LS-JJM-AX7
2 Speed motor
1 circulation motor
Upper controller has Jets key, light key, heat key and cool key

On the spa pack the jumpers are listed like this :
jumper 1 XXO - pump#1 1sp & w circ pump
jumper 1 OXX - pump#1 2sp & w/o circ pump

Currently the jumper is set to XXO, which means I only get 1 speed and circ motor works,  if I put the jumper to OXX I have two speeds but my panel shows FLC which causes the heater to turn off? 

Question 1 - Why am I getting FLC?
Question 2 - Can the spa pack handle a two speed motor plus the circ pump?  (i'm not sure if thats what it came with)
Question 3 - If I can only run pump 1 1sp * circ pump can I change it to be high speed?

This is a start,  I'm sure I'll have more questions to follow.

Welcome to the forum. The real experts will probably be along soon, but usually FL has something to do with flow. Are all the filters clean and make sure nothing it blocking them? I was thinking at the higher speed a clogged filter might cause issues. (Note, I'm the volunteer moderator, no real expertise)

Pull the filters out and run on high speed.  If this corrects the problem then the filters should be replaced or cleaned real well

Sorry,  I forgot to add that it has a new filter.   I'm wondering it FLC is caused by the circ pump running?

So the spa pack should handle the two speed motor and the circ pump?  I'm draining the tub now and going to flush all the lines.  I'm going to try this Spa Marble so it required a flush anyways.

When you change it to OXX, it no longer supports your circ pump.  Without the circ pump, the pressure switch says "not enough water flow, turn off heater and show error code FLO".  Sounds like someone replaced the 1 speed motor with a 2 speed motor.  Not sure if there is an adjustment that can be made to solve this.  You may want to try unplugging the circ pump when you have it in the 2 speed setting.  When you have it on 1 speed and circ, do you get high speed or low speed?

Turn the breaker off.  Unplug the circ pump from the circuit board.  Power it back up and see if that works.

ok...I'll try that,  if i works would I be better off running the circ pump and change the wiring on the 2 speed pump so it runs high all the time?  I've read that the circ pump uses less hydro?

Ok I tried unplugging the circ pump. Now I have two speeds but its low speed circ all the time. If I push the jet button I get high speed.

This is what you want.  If it is running constantly on low speed, that means that it is either calling for heat or is in a filter cycle.  The low speed will shut off once it reaches the set temperature or the filter cycle ends.  I think that your problem is solved. 

There may be a way to get both speeds and still use your circ pump, but I'm not sure.  I'm not really a technical guy.  Low speed filtration is fine, imo.  I would probably sell the circ pump and keep the tub as is.

There are arguments to be made for both sides of this.  Yes, the circ pump uses less electricity, but circ pumps usually don't move nearly as much water as a low speed pump.  You can get quite a bit more circulation in a few hours with the low speed than with most circ pumps running 24/7.  Ultimately, my opinion is that a circ pump is nice, but not necessary.  It certainly eliminates some wear and tear on the jet pump, but good jet pumps still last 10-15 years even when cycling on and off all day.
