2000 Soverign heating problem
« on: August 20, 2012, 02:57:05 pm »
Hello
If any one can help. I have a Sovereign hot tub that I love but I had to drain it and after we refilled it. The heater would not come on.I rechecked power and it has power to the circuit board.I then pushed the button on the side of the heater and I get a little hot water in the tub (did not leave it on because I noticed that where the heater plugs in tho the circuit board the wires are VERY hot and there is almost burning of the wire cover. all that to ask is this normal or do we have a heater going out???Causing to much resistance in the wire ?

The plug/receptacle is bad. If you want to replace it, you will have to buy a new heater element, and a new receptacle. OR -just take out the receptacle, and wire the heating element directly into the relay in the control box. Be sure you get rid of ALL the burned wiring if you do so.
