Time to buy again?
« on: February 23, 2012, 07:26:41 am »
As my Dynasty is approaching its 9th birthday, I'm wondering if it may be time to start shopping again.  I put a couple hundred into replacing a diverter last summer and I have another one starting to leak and I can hear metalic sounds in one pump.  A few jets are wearing out and falling out, but I have spares.  Not sure I'm in the mood to start shopping again.

I guess it all depends if you can swing the dollars...most tubs can be completely "refurbed" for $500-1k (new bearings and seals, pillows, jets, maybe a new ozone, coat of stain, etc.) buuut some of the new tubs are very nice and its always feels good to buy/own nice new things  ;D

See that the "Limelight" tubs have been inducted into the "HotSpring" family as the "HotSpring Limelight Collection" This might be the tub for you: not as fully featured as the "HotSpring Colletion," but the heart and soul is the same.

Let me know!

I do remember looking at a limelight spa when my sister bought in 2009.  She ended up with a Vanguard, but I was fairly impressed with the limelight. I do promise knowing what I know now the shopping experience will be more pleasurable this time than it was back in 2002/03.  The local market has changed quite a bit as well, far fewer players.

I may start my shopping this week. I'm in the need for more dicholor.  Near my work is two of the area's bigger dealers with two of Ohio's nicest show rooms.  Last time I bought chemicals it was from the HS/Cal dealer here.  I routinely alternate which dealer I visit for chemicals so that I  can use that as an excuse to look at the sales floor once in awhile.  So at lunch today I may hit the Sundance/jacuzzi store.

I did buy some dichlor and refamiliarize myself with the Jacuzzi/Sundance.  Need to find a reason to stop in at the HS store up the street real soon.  The last time I looked the HS dealer was carrying Cal, now the Sundance/Jacuzzi store is carrying Cal. FWIW   The Sundance store was carrying Dynasty for awhile, but now the HS guys are carrying the ecco line from Dynasty?  I might have to start taking notes.

My guess is they won't be selling Cal long.  Were dorpping them like a bad habit!!   Their spa's really are not that bad but getting parts from them is the worse I have ever experianced with a company!!

refurb'd parts and a swiss cheese warranty never bode well for a company

I'll probably look at the new HS models this Saturday, I'll probably choose a couple of models to wet test come Mid April.   i've been in a 2010 Vanguard before which is high on my list.
