Ice cover problem...1st time in 7 years

I have had a Marquis Reward for over 7 years (in Cleveland) and have never had a problem with ice/snow and the cover. I have always used a kid's plastic snow shovel to remove both ice and snow. Last night I went out to use the tub and as we had a couple inches of wet snow that had then frozen, I went to scoop it off with the kiddie shovel. To my surprise the top layer of the cover froze to the snow and pealed off with the snow/ice. I have never had this problem before so I guess I'll be buying a new cover...Has anyone ever had this problem?

Rick, if your cover is over 7 years old, it is probably just a result of being at the end of it's life...I think getting 7 years out of a cover is probably really good..

It was actually only 2 years old. The snow/ice just stuck to the cover.....much different than ever before. Oh well, time to call my dealer and get a new Marquis cover I guess

If it's only 2 years old, I would ask about the warranty.

So although the warranty on a replacement cover is 1 yr unlike the 3 year when you get it with a new tub, my dealer talked to Marquis and they are going to give me a 50% credit on a new one. Thanks for the advise of asking about the warranty

Given the oddball winter we have had, is it possible the cover was just wet and we had a flash freeze? That happened here last week. We had freezing rain this past Saturdy, 16F and 2" of snow on Saturday, and thunderstorms and 58 yesterday.

Thats a good thought. If I remember we had a couple inches of snow on the cover, then rain which means slush, then it dropped about 20 degrees in 3 hrs.

Drove the hour in the snow to my dealer in Austintown to get the new cover for my Marquis Reward. Just as promised Marquis credited me 50% even though it was out of warranty. It pays to have a good dealer and a good manufacturer.
