where was my J-365 made?

  On the back side of my J-365, on the black plastic pan, I noticed a bar code looking label with the serial number for my tub, and it also said made in Mexico!! I thought the tub was manugactured in a factory in California. Or is just the pan made in Mexico? I purchased this tub new 1 year ago from a local dealer and we ordered ot from the factory. By the way, The tub has been trouble free so far (using ozone and chlorine). We love it. Only issue is a split that developed in the middle of one of the slats. I had a tech look at it, took pictures, sent to the factory and I should be seeing a new panel soon.

Someone who sells Jacuzzi can probably chime in with 100% verification, but to put it simply, it is extremely expensive to operate a manufacturing facility in California so some companies are assembling in Mexico....it doesn't mean they've picked up and moved out of the country (not 100% sure I believe Jacuzzi headquarters are still in Chino, CA) but they have moved assembly of certain models/lines to Mexico to save $....I know they are still plenty of people who strictly believe in buying American Made, but lets be honest its become increasingly hard to avoid products that are not manufacturer/assembled out of the country.

A little over a year ago, Jacuzzi & Sundance have moved all manufacturing to Mexico.  Their headquarters are still in Chino, CA.

Hot Spring top line models are still assembled in the US in Vista....Limelight and HotSpot are in Mexico, and ya you could be right

i would say thats a safe bet.  no one sees the hot spring oompa loompa's.

as far as confidence in either facility (the jacuzzi or watkins mexican plant) i'm sure they do a fine job.  they have q.c. and management from the parent company, ultra modern machinery, and a much more manageable labor cost.

I was probably one of the few that thought NAFTA was a good idea back in the 80s. I had thought that is Mexicans had access to better jobs they might not be streaming into our country illegally, but that problem has only gotten worse.

I bought my Jacuzzi J230CD in October 2011 in the UK and that also says "made in Mexico" on the label behind the filter and on the electronic box behind the front panel.
