Hot Spring Envoy Vs. Jacuzzi J-480
« on: August 07, 2011, 02:07:58 pm »
I have checked out both spas and like them both.  The Hot Spring dealer has much better prices than the Jacuzzi dealer. Jacuzzi was quoting me MSRP...17500 for the J-480 without ozone, but including the stereo, lifter, cover and steps...very high quote.  I was wondering if there was a difference in the energy efficiency between the tubs?  Heat loss on the top or sides?  Which one is cheaper to run or if they are equivalent?  Right now I am leaning towards the Hot Spring due to price ($10,900) most likely less than that.  It seems people on here are paying between $10K - $12K for the Jacuzzi with all the bells and whistles.  Any input would help.

The 400 series is expensive but those ere ridculous prices. I don't understnd why they didn't state those as the MSRP and then give you a real price.

As far as cost of operation, both will do well.

I am on Long Island, NY.  I got the Hot Spring dealer down to $10,200 plus tax and the lifter for the Envoy.  I think that is a fair price...any thoughts?

That's a really good price on the Envoy.  I have no idea why the Jacuzzi dealer left you with that lasting impression.  No doubt, the Jacuzzi will be more.  I would expect to pay more than $12k for a 480, especially with all the bells and whistles.

I have had a Jacuzzi J-365 since 2004,  Should have bought a Caldera. We bought Jacuzzi because we thought it was a brand name you can trust. Since 2004 we have had to replace the mother board, control panel, heating element and as of today the hot tub is in over heat again and the led lights do not work.  Did i mention that i have the beautiful blue acrylic model that the dealer gave me something to clean it with and it stained the finish.  I am so disgusted with Jacuzzi that i just want to rip it out and seal up the hole in my deck.  I will never buy another hot tub....so disappointed with this hot tub.

I also live on Long Island, NY and just got a price of $12,700  plus tax for the Jacuzzi J-470. That included Steps, Cover with Lift, J-1000 Stereo w/I-Pod Dock and 1 MB of Storage and delivery. Actually with tax it was $13800 out the door delivered. How is this unit and how is the price? Thanks.

I can't comment on price since I am in a different country, but I just bought a 470 a couple of weeks ago and love it! Great massage and features. You will be happy with your purchase.

Maybe he was going for the, "wait till I tell the guys at the annual meeting about this one price".   Or perhaps someone is required somewhere to sell a spa at the MSRP so they can say its a "real" price?

Tdola,

I haven't gone back to the jacuzzi dealer...he totally turned me off.  What store did you get that price at?

yeh those prices seem a lot high.. not just a little, is he looking for the home run shot from you.....i would shop around. I would even go look at the D1, Sundance, Marquis, Clearwater just to get a better idea on the pricing you got on that spa....
