Soaking after a long ride?
« on: November 21, 2008, 11:22:29 am »
I'm just about to get the first 1,000 miles on my new 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster and wondered who else rides bikes and what kind? of course to keep it legal - how long do you soak after riding?
Here is a picture of my scooter from a stock photo - I don't have any of my personal bike yet. The only modifications I've made are to change out the mid controls to forward controls. The mid control foot peg kept catching the inside of my pants leg when I came to a red light.

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.

Here is a pic of my 1991 Softail Springer.  Well, it was mine...I sold it a few years ago.  Priorities changed and I didn't have enough time to ride anymore.  My wife literally cried when the buyer rode off on it.  She reminds me every once in a while that I can go get another one anytime I want.

As for soaking...I didn't have a tub back then.  But, after some of the rides it sure would have been nice to relax in the hot tub.  Might have to scrub the bugs off your face first ;)

That's a good looking bike fdegree, This is my first Harley as I've always had rice burners in the past and I have to say I'm not disappointed at all. 8-)

As far as the bugs go, I'm not sure if you get "love bugs" where your at but they can make you park your bike for a few weeks when they are out.

I use mine as daily transportation to work. Since gas prices have gone down it's not as much fun to tease the other guys about the 80 - 90 miles I go on 2 gallons anymore. But I'm sure prices will rise again.

I own a '99 Stage 3 Road King.  I'll post a photo next time I'm at work.
I don't soak as long in the summer as I do in the winter.  And where I live, the bike is put away in the winter!
