Calspa Avalon 844L- 3 yrs review
« on: November 24, 2010, 11:05:00 pm »
Well Happy Thanksgiving!  I just got in from a nice soak after snowboarding on some of the finest powder I have seen at this time of year.  The Calspa Avalon 844L is still going strong after 3 years and I have no problems to report except that two of the waterline led lights are out.  There are plenty more that do work and I rarely use them anyways so this is a very slight annoyance not worth fixing.

I still use the lounger more than any other seat and I love my Calspa.  It was the perfect choice for me.

My dealer no longer carries the calspa line and another dealer took over for a short time and now another dealer yet again all in one year.  Times are tough I guess.  Even the dealers that no longer carry the Calspa claim to have parts if needed...so I am not worried.  Knock on wood.

Dealers do not drop Cal spas because times are tough.

I dont know the real story, but I was told that my original dealer was dropped by Calspa for not selling enough units.  This was told to me by the dealer that took over for a short time.  (Sounds like tough times may have caused Calspa to drop him!)  He is now selling Artesian Spas from what the sign says.

The dealer that took over was selling Sundance all along.  Calspa wanted them to devote half of their floor space to the line and this dealer would not agree to do that so he dropped Calspa in favor of keeping Sundance.  Now the Marquis dealer is carrying the Calspa line from what I was told but I havent visited them yet to verify.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

Glad to hear things are going well for you. Where do you live?  I love jumping in the tub after skiing, but that usually doesn't happen till after Christmas here.

Correct...I live in the SL,UT area.  I wish I could award a prize.

The early season conditions here are fantastic...some resorts are 100% open and the base is over 50 inches.

smokeandsoak...glad to hear you are happy with your CalSpa.
I have had my CalSpa tub for almost 5 years.
It still runs like a champ and looks great.
I drained mine over the summer and just recently filled it back up.
