Tree Frogs getting in hot tub
« on: September 15, 2010, 10:06:54 am »
Can't wait for them to bury themselves in the mud (or whatever they do) and hibernate.
All summer long, I have opened up the tub to at least 2 frogs clinging to the top edge.  Lately, it has been a bunch of small ones, several of them have been actually inside, hopping across my bubble blanket!  Turds and sand everywhere.  One particular large one likes to hang out by/in the water feature!  The handle that controls it is always a mess as well.  Instead of putting them way back in the garden I should probably just toss them over the neighbor's 6 ft. fence!   ;)

Try cutting a Lime in half and rubbing it on the upper edge of the hot tub.  They won't like this and they won't be back.

Yep, we too have been having frogger problems... I keep transplanting the little buggar back to the trellis  or other locations.. only to find him on the edge under the cover flap, or on the top lip, or the last time we found him (or another one, who knows) enjoying the soak at the waterline.

Our little frogs are about a inch long; here's a specimen on our mint plants:

Put the lime in the hottub you say?  Or on the outer edge.  We'll give it a try!

Yum Yum!  They'd be tiny little tasty morsels - perhaps a meal big enough for a mouse or two.

Clover,

A lime? ??? I'll have to try it. I also get these frogs clinging to the sides of the acrylic. I just toss them in the yard and they always seem to find their way back onto my spa. The lime is great with a Corona, why waste it on the tree frogs?
