Jacuzzi vs Limelight vs D1
« on: September 06, 2010, 08:27:50 pm »
Replacing a 20+ year old Jacuzzi Santina and have narrowed it down to these three spas:

Jacuzzi 335 @ $8,600 includes 2 extra filters, ozone.
Limelight (Hot Springs) Flair @ $8,200
Dimension One Aurora @ $8,700 includes ozone

All include delivery/hookup and removal/disposal of old spa.

Looking for comments on pricing and reliability of these specific spas.

Thanks in advance, Joe

Anyone?  I am interested to see what others have seen for prices on the Jacuzzi 335.  Is this a reasonable deal or basically just of list.

As an impartial obeserver, all 3 have good reputations. I've known less Limelight owners, but the parent company has a good reputation.  Unless your heart picks one over the others, keep looking till a dealer makes one more attractive than the others.

I can only tell you my experience with the LimeLight. Since they were developed about 2 yrs ago we have sold quite a few. Aside from some problems with the lighting when they first came out (problem has been diagnosed and fixed) we haven't had any warranty calls on them.  :)

Hope this helps but ultimately you should get what fits you and from a dealer you are comfortable with.
If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.

Joe,
It's like a choice between a upper, lower and high-end units.
The Jacuzzi is a well respected product but the dealer is asking too much (335's can be bought for $6,500 EASILY in most markets as it it a fairly small unit).  It is like buying a mid-level Lexus.

The limelight is also a decent product but is more like the more pedestrian Toyota.  It won't have all the bells and whistles the Jacuzzi would just as the Toyota's don't have memory seats.  As such, the price should also be co-measurant with the value. However, I think the limelight is a slightly larger spa so around $7K would be a fair price on it.

The Dimension one is like buying a top-of-the-line Mercedes in that it will have every bell and whistle whether you want them or not and you WILL pay for it.  Consequently, about $8K is about as low as you will likely find one of those.

So, if it were me and the dealers were steadfast (not negotiating on price), then I would tell the other two that I think the Dim1 is a "better value" for those $'s but if they want to reduce their products price, I could be motivated to change my decision based on costs.  Tell them you don't really need all the bells and whistles but if your going to have to pay the same amount for any of them, why not take the one with all the extra features...

...The gene pool could use a little chlorine....

Quickly approaching a mid-life crisis one day at a time.

All three equally good spas, you can't go wrong with any of them.
