timer heater problem
« on: May 16, 2010, 11:09:36 am »
We have a old system with a 10kW heater and a separate circulation pump, both on a single timer. We'd like to save electricity and use the timer, but the heater element has failed twice after about 1 year when turning the system off at night. That's a costly way to save electricity...is this related? I am thinking if it is related, I should install a timer to turn the heater off first (to make sure it is not on when the pump shuts off). Or is this simply a function of not maintaining the pH balanced? Help...Chris
