White Sox hut tub celebration - Sorry Twins
« on: September 30, 2008, 11:17:22 pm »
Time to relax with a nice soak after that low scoring pitcher's duel. The Twins had a great end to the season, hats off them for playing so hard but the White Sox got lucky and won the coin toss, giving us home field advantage.

The Minnesota fans on the Twins forum are actually very classy and are taking the loss pretty well.

This is the first time in 102 years that the Cubs and Sox are both in the post season.

Seeing the Bears win over the Eagles on Sunday night made my whole weekend. I like McNabb too, he's a great guy who grew up on the south side of Chicago. The Eagles will do well this season.

Like any good Chicagoan (former), I cheer for the Sox and despise the Cubs.

Was it really a coin toss? I was thinking it was just another stupid decision by a worthless commissioner. Sorry Bud, you may only be half as stupid as I thought.

I wonder if Bartman has to leave town during the playoffs.  Any news of him in the Chicago area?  Maybe he is a Sox fan now.

Isn't this a forum violation?  No way should one post with a subject about the White Sox and be able to mention that the Eagles lost to da Bears.  I was just getting over it too....  ::)

Hopefully the Phillies and Cubs will meet in the NLCS and PhilPA will have its revenge.  8-)

The last I'd heard about Bartman he was still a recluse, loves the Cubs and that someone offered him $10K, I think, for a single autographed baseball.  Through his 'contacts', he told them NO.

dax, I don't want a match up between the Cubs and Phillies, that would mean the Cubbies got past the Dodgers.   Phillies and Dodgers, fine.

(See below $25K not $10K)

Heads we play in Chicago, tails in Minn/St.Paul, if it lands on its edge they play in Milwaukee.

Steve Bartman still lives and works in Chicago. He imposes his own "house arrest", as the threats still come in every now and then but the Sox fans love him.

The Cubs fans had to pin the loss on somebody and instead of blaming the short stop for blowing the easy double play grounder to end the inning and allowing the Marlins to score 8 runs, they blame the poor guy trying to grab a foul ball.

It's typical mob / sheepish behavior that spread like a virus through the drunken Wrigley crowd that night and grew from there.

Steve hasn't accepted any money of any kind from this debacle, they offered him $25,000 for a single signature and he refused. The Cubs fans love to feel sorry for themselves and thrive on expecting disappointment.

I like both Chicago teams equally and would love to see them play each other in the World Series but the Sox would more than likely win.
