Cover Butler for a 2000 HS Classic
« on: March 08, 2010, 10:30:46 am »
Looking to buy a cover lifter for my 2000 HS classic. My local HS dealer said HS doesn't make them anymore for this model. He suggested buying a "Cover Butler" it can be attached to the lower frame or my deck that the tub is setting on. Anyone have any input on a cover butler. Yay or Nay????

Thanks,
Roger

I currently have the cover butler attached to the lower frame of my tub.  It's easy to put together and seems to do its job well.

Does it attach to the cover? Or does the cover just fold over the bar and hang on it while it is open?
Thanks,
Roger

It folds over the cover and hangs on the bar.  I bought my most recent cover with double stitching on the seam and its holding up well, It think I've had it more than a year now.

Thanks for the info.... My cover is a HS and is showing some wear. I was thinking of shelling out the $400 for a new one from my local HS rep. When I order one should I tell them what kind of cover lifter I have?

Make sure the Butler is not steel. We had some for Jacuzzi spas that rusted bad - of course we are in Florida.
spas are electrical devices and can be dangerous to repair - please use this advice at your own risk

thats weak on hot springs part imo.  i think it was just a matter of molded plastic shims that allowed the cradle to operate at the correct angle.  they must not have as much control over their accessories than they do over regular repair parts.

Call the factory to confirm because that didn't seem right so I asked someone who should know and he said untrue, that spa is still suppotred with the lifter. If they confirm it for you then tell your dealer hes slipping.
