Hot Spot Relay price
« on: March 09, 2010, 09:35:12 pm »
I've just begun shopping for a hot tub and looked at the Hot Spot Relay yesterday.

I believe the HotSpring dealer said that this is a smaller version of the Tempo model.
He said that this model is currently on sale for $6100 and that normally this tub
would be in the $8k price range.

I guess the thing that bothered me was he said that it could go off sale at anytime without warning.

Does this sound like a good price for the model?

Thanks in advance.

That is the first I have heard of that model. There are a lot of HS experts here, I'll look forward to what they say, but it seems like a decent amount of tub for a decent price.

What all was included in the deal for that price? Stereo?

The HotSpot and Solana line from Watkins have been "revamped" for 2010.

Included with the hot tub is some type of step or steps, a sub-panel and the dealer said that he would include the Ozone System.

The Hot Spot line has been completely re-done.  All the previous Hot Spots have been retired.  If I remember correctly, the $6100 price is probably about right, maybe even a little low.  I think one of the Watkins reps told me they'd sell for around $6500.  I'll have to double check that, but I think that's right.

I knew about the revamped Hot Spots for 2010, but what all changed on the Solana line. Where they completely revamped like the Hot Spots, or just some minor changes?

$6100 is about right - they probably go for about $6500 as Vanguard said.

We delivered a Relay this morning and I am impressed.

I didn't know they did anything to the Solana line - we just got a new TX and there is no difference.

Imcluding the ozone is good but that spa doesn't have 24 hour circulation. The subpanel comes with the spa from the factory so that shouldn't be a selling point.
spas are electrical devices and can be dangerous to repair - please use this advice at your own risk

Thank you to everyone who replied.  Your input validated the information that I was getting from the dealer as well as other sources.  I've also gained other valuable information from this forum.

I went back to the show room and sat in the Tempo and decided that the lounge in it fit me better than the Relay model.

I'm 6'2" and didn't want to give up 5" which is the difference in size between the two tubs.

I am proceeding with the purchase of the Hot Spot Tempo.

Thanks again.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. Been kinda busy around here.

As far as the Solana line goes, the RX went away when the HotSpot Sprint and Dash came out.

The SX now has an everwood cabinet in espresso color.

The TX did not change as far as I know.

Congrats on the Tempo purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

flyonthewall...

the Relay is just a bit too small for me.  I'm 6 feet.

I am thinking seriously about the Tempo for 5,999.00.  Overall, it's a foot larger, I believe.

Judging from the pictures I would say the "Relay" is a good name for this spa.  In the photo posted by Bill it apears that the gent is "passing the baton" to the lady...
