How to test pumps (for Jaimie E)
« on: November 06, 2009, 06:08:19 pm »
Someone from another forum was asking about ways to test a pump motor to verify it is functional.  I told him that I wasn't a tech and pointed them to this forum.   They have a used tub and don't know if it is functional but wanted to understand if there was a way to test before dumping the $400-$700 into the 220volt wiring they would need to support it...
...The gene pool could use a little chlorine....

Bunka,

It's called a meggar reading, it will test the winding of the motors resistance.  Any electrical motor shop should be ab;le to perform the test
