but it really didn't matter since we were sitting in the VERY highest seats available and it was like watching a miniature circus...

Oh, yes, I do remember you posting about that a while back.Back before I had kids, I had Flyers season tix to go along with my Eagles tix. There were actually 4 of us who shared the Flyers tix so we each got 10 games per year. Back then if you had season tix, you had the priviledge of buying additonal playoff tix. The first year they opened the big house I was at all the home games when the Flyers made it to the Cup Finals. For game-1 of the Cup Finals, I took a friend of mine who was confined to a wheelchair. My seats were up in the nosebleeds, but not wheelchair accessible. We went to the services desk and they hooked us up in the wheelchair section in the first level. My seat for game-1 of the Cup finals was 12th row right on the blue line next to my buddy. It was awesome! Except that they lost that game and the next three.
Wings? You're Canadian and have a maple leaf spinning around!
Since this is a hockey thread maybe you folks can help me. I listen to ESPN and they'll refer to the Montreal Canadians as the Avs (havs). I could understand them doing so for the Avalanche but the Canadians? Am I misunderstanding them (or is it misremembering for you Clemens haters) and they are refering to Colorado? If it is the Canadians what does Avs refer to?Thanks from a novice hockey fan. This is beginning to be my favorite sports time of the year, when basketball ends. ( nanna hey hey, kiss it good bye.)
I'm a big sports fan but hockey isn't my bag yet I know this one. It's the HABS as in "inhabitants", not Avs or havs...French nicknames for the team include Les Canadiens, Le Bleu-Blanc-et-Rouge, La Sainte-Flanelle, Le Tricolore, Les Glorieux, Les Habitants and Le Grand Club. In English, the main nickname is the Habs [glow](coming from "Les Habitants")[/glow]. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Canadiens
The spinning maple leaf is for the Canadian flag. I AM BY NO MEANS A MAPLE LEAF FAN!!!! . In fact I pretty much hate all things Toronto. Vinny, I am from Windsor Ontario and I can see Joe Louis Arena from Riverside Drive in Windsor. I can also see Commerica Park (Tigers) and Ford Field (Lions). I can drive 45 minutes to Auburn Hills to see a Pistons game. I grew up watching Detroit sports and have remained a fan.Once again,GO WINGS!!!!!
