Another "is this a good deal question..."
« on: February 03, 2009, 07:42:20 pm »
Ordered a California Cooperage Model 107 by Maax at a home show for a rental property for $5500.  The dealer then offered me a Coleman 461 theraputic spa or another floor model 107 w/ stereo for the same cost.   Decided too late on the 107 and went with the 461, better warranty etc...

Get the 461 and decided it was too small, but what can you do.  Go to get chemical and the floor model 107 is back.  Guy who bought lost his job.  Dealer said he would sell for $5000 said I would think about it if he swapped them out.  Really just bringing the 461 to my house.  Said he would for an extra $200.00.  I would do it for $5000 but that extra $200 just is a deal breaker.

So is a 7 seat Maax spa model 107 for $5000 and $200 swap fee a good deal?  Should I shop around and see if I can find another 7 seater for 5k?  Or just pay the $200 fee and get the spa that I wanted at my rental and nice spa at home????

Thanks all...

I don't really know Coleman well (or Max as they are now called) so I won't comment about the models but why should the $200 be a deal breaker. He's only doing it to cover his delivery charges. You already got free delivery with the first spa which you're having buyer's remorse over so logically you should pay delivery cost for the second one and it sounds like you prefer the 107 so why not just get the spa you want and go forward. Spread that $200 delivery fee over the 10+ years of ownership and it'll be long forgotten pretty soon.

You are going to own this thing for YEARS, get the tub you want $200 is nothing compared to the cost of buying a new spa and operating it.

Spend the $200 to get what you want!

Hell you cant hardly take your family to an NFL game these days for $200!

$200 = Chump Change to get satisfaction.

$200 to exchange a tub you do not want for another one that is outrageous, he should pay you $200 for the pleasure of spending time driving around and seeing the sites. The dealer should also throw in a years chemicals and buy you lunch. Maybe lower the price of the spa $1000 more to insure in makes no money and has to close his doors.

ok  I got your point...

Let me rephrase the question...is $5000 a good deal for a 7 seat California Cooperage Model 107, or are there other makers/models I should look at...

Thanks
