This is something that upsets me about this forum...we form relationships (if only to look for a picture or anticipate a comment to a post), but if something happened to a member, no one would know. :( I am just hoping Cooltoy is taking a break, or an extended vacation. Hopefully, he is fine.
I have been wondering about several members who haven't posted in a long while. When I asked last fall about Stuart, it turns out he was having serious health issues.  :(

Hey Cooltoy..if you are checking in...let us know you are OK  ;)

I frequent a golf forum with members throughout the world.  Some members took it upon themselves to set up golf outings at various locations for us to meet and play.  Met some great people.  One day, there was a posting about a member from New Zealand who died in a freak car accident.  I had never met him of course, but via the forum, I kinda felt like I knew him.  We learned that he had a wife and two young children.  One forum member volunteered to take up a collection, and sent the money to his family.

A couple months later, this guy's widow posted to the forum about how much her husband had enjoyed the golf forum and how much she appreciated our kindness.  Very nice, yet strange, in knowing that you can have an impact on people all over the world via your PC.

That said, I'm sure CoolToy is jjust busy taking pics of hot tub hotties to post here.  8-)

I was a member of a gaming forum where a very prominent member and moderator suddenly disappeared.  Similar to dax' experience, we not only posted together but talked often on Teamspeak/Ventrilo, played together on the same team, and my roommate at the time actually visited him in person when he had a business trip to Texas, and spent the evening with him and his wife.  Someone contacted his wife after a few days and it turned out that his business partner had stolen money from him some months ago, he fell into depression and he had committed suicide.  As Boni says, although it's only a high level "friendship" through a forum it hit us all very hard.  Our members also sent flowers and donations to his wife.

I agree with dax though, I'm sure Cooltoy is just building up his reserve of pictures :)  We're waiting!

I hung out on a motorcycle forum and one of the members died of health reasons. We took up a collection and sent it to his wife. After the funeral the son took over his dad's bike and started to post on the forum. You do establish relationships. I met webboy yesterday and I feel like I know wewhatahottub (Chrisi) like she is an old friend. So it is an interesting feeling when someone dissappears.

I think Cooltoy will be back. He said on April 9th that he was going to Florida for 2 weeks. It will be just a matter of time before he's back. :)
